Letters From the Heart
A few years ago, I began to put a book together called Letters from the Heart. I decided to ask friends if they would like to add a “letter” to anyone for me to add to the book. I got a few replies, but I was not able to get enough to have the book published. So, today I am going to start writing “love letters” to you.
I hope you enjoy this series of posts, and maybe put a smile on your face,
a tear from your heart,
or a giggle from time to time.
Most importantly, I want you to know you are loved. We are called to love one another, to forgive, and to have respect for each person. It doesn’t matter what color your skin is, what country you are from, what religion you practice, or what your belief system is. This is a message to you, letting you know that God LOVES you!! He became a man, the man Jesus Christ, to show you how much you are loved. He gave a part of Himself to the world, let people spit on Him, He was mocked, beaten, and hung on a cross. He conquered death so that we could be free from our sins. This is something to smile about.
YOU ARE LOVED
The following are 10 promises, God makes to each of us, and the Link to a webpage that teaches you how to stand on God’s promises.
Romans 8:31 (KJV)
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not be with Him also freely give us all things?
2 Peter 1:4
And because of his glory and excellence, He has given us great and precious promise. These are the promises that enable you to share His divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
“Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me: for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.”
Me again: I had to take a break here and think about that one for a few minutes. It has been a while since that scripture has entered my thoughts, and for a while there, I had forgotten to lay everything in my life at His feet, and He would take care of it for me. Once I let that sink in again, I could feel the weight lift off of my life, and heart. I know that I am a sinner, I was born into sin, and I know that I am going to mess up in some way every day of my life. But I also know that I am covered in the blood of Jesus and He is working on me every single day. He carves a little here, smooths a little there, scrapes out a little over in that spot….you get the picture. I am a work in progress. But He loves us. That brings Joy into my heart and makes me want to be more like Jesus. I, myself have been prideful. My husband brought it to my attention, and at first I didn’t think I had been prideful; but praying opened my eyes to what he was seeing in me, that I was not seeing in myself. Praying and talking to Jesus is helping. My point in telling you this, letting you know that it is okay to give it all to Him and He will heal and restore your soul.
You have a healer of broken hearts, a friend to confide in, a brother to talk about anything with, a father who teaches and molds me, a best friend who I can confide in and won’t judge me, but show me where I am wrong; helping make me into His image, holy.
Sorry to go on my little side trip there… 🙂
He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from His glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.
No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow–not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below–indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
That is something to get excited about!! Follow this link to a song that gives you an idea of His love for us, and how NOTHING can separate us from His enduring love.
But all who listen to me will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm.”
“I am leaving you with a gift–peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”
Be at peace, brothers and sisters. Lay your worries on him and He will give you peace and joy.
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is the Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Don’t let this be a way out of reading and studying your bible. That is God’s ultimate love letter to you!
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
Imagine knowing that God has left you with each of these promises. Jot them down, memorize them, if you haven’t already and share them with others. Let someone else know how much God loves us…
Signing off for now!
